devon movement group

Whether you are:
Beginning your movement journey
Returning to your body after some time away
Rebuilding after illness or injury
Wanting to stay strong through life’s changes
Choosing to keep doing what you love for years to come
Or simply curious about moving better
You are in the right place
At the Devon Movement Group, I offer group classes and private sessions designed to support real people, in real bodies, through all seasons of life.
Whether you’re here to move with more freedom, build strength & mobility, or reconnect with nature, there is something for you.

Why Movement Matters
We live in a world of choice overload: gym for strength, yoga for flexibility, pilates for posture, parkrun for cardio… where do you even start?
It’s no wonder so many of us end up doing… nothing.
Our bodies are built for variety, yet modern life keeps us stuck in repetitive patterns: sitting, scrolling, commuting. Even our workouts can become routine.
Over time, our range, mobility and ease of movement quietly reduces. Before we know it, we’re stiff, sore and struggling to do the things we love.
This is your invitation to shift the paradigm.
At the Devon Movement Group, my aim is to help you to develop, regain and maintain a resilient body through empowering movement that supports your real life.
It’s not about fancy poses or lifting the heaviest weights. It’s about putting on your socks without wobbling. Getting down to the floor (and up again) with ease. Being able to do the things you love now and in the next 20, 30, or 50 years.
There’s no timeline for starting.
No age limit. No wrong body.
Together, we start where you are and move from there.
This is movement for health. This is movement for life.

Why It’s Different
Just as every body is different, one method will never suit everyone.
You won’t follow a single system or strict modality here.
Instead, I draw from a wide range of practices, combining what’s useful, proven and applicable to real life.
Each class blends elements shaped by real experience and years of testing what works. Depending on the class, you might find:
- Up-to-date strength, mobility and functional training
- Practices that have stood the test of time: like yoga, tai chi and martial arts
- Creative exploration from dance, improvisation and acrobatics
- Somatic tools and guided awareness as the cornerstone of connection
- Time to slow down and rest deeply
- Most importantly: space for fun, curiosity and play
At the Devon Movement Group, movement is a conversation.
It’s not about how you look. It’s about how you feel and function, now and in the long run.
The focus lies in variety over repetition.
Function over performance.
Freedom over form.
And most of all: connection — to yourself, your body and to the world around you.

JAMES“It’s a highlight of my week. I leave feeling both energised and relaxed. I’m well into my seventies and the classes definitely help me feel younger.”

MELISSA“These classes have been invaluable in helping me maintain movement and flexibility and improve strength. I’ve had a number of mobility challenges, including a partial knee replacement, and still feel able to participate fully. Rebecca is an excellent teacher knowledgeable: encouraging and attentive to everyone’s individual needs.”

PAULINE“I cannot recommend this class enough. It’s gentle but challenging and it keeps me working well. Long may they continue"
